Terms of Service

Welcome to Existential. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Existential web application ("App", "Service"), operated by us ("we", "us", or "our").
By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
2. Use of the Service
Existential allows you to:
Create and maintain private journal entries
Update a personal timeline with milestones
View and manage your own content through a personal account
All content you create is private by default and not publicly viewable or shareable through the App.
3. User Responsibilities
By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
Upload or store content that is unlawful, abusive, or violates any third-party rights
Use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to access, modify, or interfere with the App
Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit any part of the App
Use the Service for commercial, spam, or malicious purposes
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Account and Data
To use the Service, you must create an account using your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You may request to delete your account and associated data at any time within the app or by contacting support@existentialapp.com.
5. Intellectual Property
The App and its content, including but not limited to design, logo, and software code, are the intellectual property of Existential. You retain ownership of your own journal entries and milestones, but grant us a limited license to store and display them privately for your use.
You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without our written consent.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We make no guarantees regarding availability, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Existential shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.
8. Modifications to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms, with changes becoming effective upon posting.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York. Any disputes will be resolved in courts located in that jurisdiction.
